John has sat on the board of directors of the Interior Logging Association for a number of years. He writes the "Ask a Lawyer" column for the Interior Trucker and Logger magazine. He has a good working knowledge of the complex Timber Harvesting Contract and Subcontract Regulation (commonly called "Bill 13"), having represented contractors and subcontractors in disputes arising out of that Regulation. He represented the interior log harvesting associations at the discussions that resulted in the redrafting of the Regulation in 2004. John has, as well, appeared before the Forest Appeals Commission, and has given seminars concerning such issues as due diligence, the Forest and Range Practices Act, and the Competition Act, among others.
